He came to New York from Spain more than two decades ago, and like many artists living and working here, has developed a singular way of painting that transcends cultural identity. Many of us uproot ourselves from our homelands in order to develop acuity through the physical distance from our origins.
As artists, we are simultaneously social, political, and economic analysts attempting to define the world we live in through our art’s criticality.
